Baldness

    • I have been wondering about this baldness issue, especially the fact that it doesnt appear in women, not that hair style is very important to me but I'll prefer a a little hair on my head ...i

      So what is behind it,

Is it that men scratch their heads a lot, and if this is the case, why do they do it, a lot of problems, responsibilities (dont women have any?). Or is it the way men handle their problems - they panick while women tackle their problems in a bit more relaxed manner ( can't believe I am typing this). ....i

Or is it that men are great thinkers, (i.e to say rate of hair loss is proportional to rate of thinking) - does this mean there are no great women thinkers at all? I mean apart from a few cases of women who were born without hair, I have never seen or heard about baldness in women. Could it be they hide it under Hijab or wigs and other stuff?? i

Is it genetics? so men are destined to lose hair , kinda not fair i

Or what do you ppl think?.....i

    • hi brother
it was pleasure to read you analysation to the subject
"baldness does not affect women but it affects men"

The reason is simply genetics and environment.
I will explane it to you in simple way

The hair loss is one of the difficult trait to study, because it may be caused by many factors-both genetics and environmental.

Genetics, because of hair loss (=baldness) is an sex-influenced inheritance trait. That is the trait with gene of baldness act dominantly (=expressed ) in male and recessively (not expressed) in female, despite the fact that she may posses and transmit to her children. As a result of that, even if the female carry the gene of baldness, it will not be expressed on her. Baldness genes is called a(sex-limited genes) that is genes which are normally expressed in only one sex, although they are carried equally by both sexes.
In general, the environment also affect the expression of the many genes. The internal environment( including other gene products and metabolism ) and external environment (including nutrition, medications, climate, pollutants, exercise, and mental stress). Therefore if we study the environment effects , we will notice that baldness trait affected by the testosterone production( male hormones), which increase the hair lost. Women with cancer and taking testosterone which happen to reduce the feminine hormones that stimulate growth of some types of cancer, will lose hair if they carry the gene of baldness.
In addition to that, there were some studies showed that many women working in occupation involving a great deal of mental stress may also begin losing their hair as a result of the hormone changes that accompany the stress.

Hopping that I explained it in a simple way easy to understand.

    • Well, first of all going bald has nothing to do with how great a thinker you are, male or female, and how often you scratch your head. Although you can experience what they call "traction alopecia" which is basically you're putting pressure on the hair follicle and the follicle dies
.But this is not the cause of baldness

The biggest thing that determines baldness is if your hair follicles are genetically predisposed to shrinkage when they encounter DHT, one of the many male hormones. If DHT forms in your scalp and you are susceptible to it then it will choke your follicles and
      .thin your hair

So it has nothing to do with stress or panic although loosing hair in some men can be fairly traumatic. I guess a historian claims Caesar was quite the dandy and very vain. He wore those laurel wreaths all the time because he didn't want to appear bald. So maybe great empires might have hung on men's hairlines, I don't know

As for today I find men who are going bald and shave their heads or cut it very short to be much more sexy and confident looking not to mention how practical it is, more so in a darker skin men
.though as the sun is not bouncing off and blinding you so much
