Yesterday I went to Sultan Qaboos University
To donate blood and the nurse told me the
Hospital wants a blood type "O negative" """urgently"""
So, I invite the forum members who have this type
Of blood to hurry to donate to help our brothers

whenever i go to blood bank

they refuses to take the blood

due to the blood pressure

I heard that O negative is required urgently even in Saudi Arabia, there is a lady in Riyadh Hospital needs very urgently this type of blood.

I'am working in a hospital laboratory which having a section of blood bank....

I would like to give you a prief information about the blood groups .

there are 8 different blood groups which are:
A positive
B positive
AB positive
O positive

A negative
B negative
AB negative
O negative

all the negative groups are rare esspecially the AB negative one.

I've got a question from the Briliant boy through the private masseg
I think it's better to answered it here to get benefit for all other readers.

the question was:

If somebody have A negative

Blood type is that mean he/she

Can not receive A positive type.

And if that is correct why both of them

called A type

Before answering your question, I would like to give a short explanation of WHAT IS THE MENING OF BLOOD GROUPS?

As you all know our blood consist of red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and plasma which carring all the other componints to all around our body's organs.

A Red blood cell is very important in carring oxygen through the hemoglobin inside it. It is them most predominant one in our blood.
It also having many antigens especially those used for blood grouping.

For an (A) typed persone for example, a lot of A antiges are present on the surface of red blood cells.

The word positive or negative is stand for the other important type of antigen which is mostly found in the plasma. which is called the Rhesus factor.

Can not receive A positive type

No, (A) negative person can take a blood of A positive blood.

Because they have same Group of ABO system which is (A) type, and the Rhesus factor is Negative ( not present) so the body of reciepiant will not fight against Rhesus factor coming from the donor's blood.

But this way is very dangerus for women in chaild caring period of age.!!! WHEY?

This is another big story to tell you.

conclusion:

A Negative can take a packed Red blood cells of A positive donor.

One thing more I have to tell you about.

the first role in the blood bank is to try to give the patient or the recipiant
SAME blood group with same Rhesus factor type and only after a compatible X- matching between the donor's cells and the patient's serum.
