Big South Asia Storm

--South Asia:

It is, as of Saturday evening, local time, shifting into northwestern Iran from Turkey with some snow, cold rain and even thunderstorms. From here, it will cut across the middle of Iran to Afghanistan. From here it will, Monday into Tuesday, be driven against the lofty Pamir, Hindu Kush, Karakoram and western Himalaya, which will break it. But the complex storm will likely get a renewed shot of energy and moisture from eastern Arabia and the Arabian Sea. This would happen at midweek.


Snow will follow the storm along and north of the low pressure center over Iran to northern and western Afghanistan, Tajikistan and a little of nearby Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. The storm`s rainy side will be brought to bear with greatest effect over southeastern Iran, southern and eastern Afghanistan and a substantial part of Pakistan. Sunday, some of UAE and northern Oman will see rain from the storm. Tuesday and Wednesday, the secondary pulse of rain will begin over Oman, where rainfall could be substantial. Pakistan will benefit greatly from this shot of rain, some of which will be heavy. In eastern Afghanistan, it will be colder this time so it may be a snowstorm over many cities and towns. There will be soaking rain and higher snow along the westernmost Himalaya Wednesday into Thursday.
