Hi all …
I have read this interesting topic about dinosaurs and I really enjoy it. I hope you enjoy it too.
A very long time ago huge animals called dinosaurs lived on the Earth. But they have all disappeared. Scientists wonder about what happened to them. Why did they die? This has been a mystery that scientists have been trying to solve for a long time. Some scientists say that they all died asteroid from outer space hit the Earth. Now some scientists think that they have the solution, or the answer. They have a new hypothesis, a guess.
The scientists say that the dinosaurs died because there was not enough oxygen in the atmosphere. The scientists have found tiny bubbles of air in stones called amber. These yellow or brown stones were ones the sticky resin _ the liquid _ inside ancient trees.
Air from long ago is trapped in the bubbles _ tiny round space inside the stones. Scientists are studying the air in these bubbles. The air in amber is 35% oxygen; air is now 21% oxygen. Scientists think that dinosaurs lived more than 65 million years ago. They lived for a very long time, but slow changes in the atmosphere of the Earth began to make it impossible for huge dinosaurs to breathe. They needed more oxygen. Their bodies did not change as the atmosphere changed. They all died. But why did the atmosphere change? These scientists think that there was a lot of volcanic activity deep inside the Earth.
When the volcanoes exploded, the very hot material brought a lot of ((CO2)) in to the atmosphere. There was more CO2 and less oxygen. Therefore, the atmosphere changed. Plants could use CO2, but animals could not. They needed more oxygen because there was not enough oxygen for the enormous dinosaurs and other animals to breathe, they all died.
The scientist call their guess the Pele hypothesis ((Pele is a volcano on the Hawaiian Islands))
So what do u think…
Is this the troth or not??!!??
