The Omani Studies Center is organizing a seminar on “Chanted Folklore in Oman and the Arabian Peninsula”
The participants:
- Prof. Jean Lambert, Director of the Centre de Recherché en Ethnomusicology in Paris. The title of his paper is The Music of Arabian Peninsula: State of Knowledges.
- Mr. Muslim Alkathiri, Director Oman Center for traditional Music. The title of his paper is Omani Auid Singers and their role in the Development of the Omani Traditional Songs.
- Dr. Majid Al-Harthy, Department of Music and Musicology, College of Arts and Social Sciences, SQU. The title of his paper is The African Influence on the Traditional Omani Music: Sur as a model.
