I have no idea about what i am going to believe
Last year, Oman channel announce the news about Veet cyclone
when it hit the area... and we were at the hostel planning to go home

You are right however there have been military official reports of the tropical Storm and we were called in yesterday for a prior contingency evacuation plan in case the storm hits. -

How bad is our media
Yes last year there was no proper planning for the storm. But government officials are ahead of the game this year. Right now there are briefs on emergency evacuation plan’s (medical, shelter and food) for the areas the storm might affect. Plus the weather forecast been monitored 24/ 7 for prior notice -

what I beleive that Oman solve any problem after they have been occured,I dont think there will be better perperations than last years
always we hear alot about great acheivements from the govermonet without seeing anythings in reality
It seems to me like just words to boast in front of other countries. -

I cannot comment anything bad about the Omani government, cause everyone has their own point of view but only I can tell u is I have been working with some of the Omani officials for a prior contingency plan if the storm hits
and i believe this is done @ rest of the other regions where they predict -

·The tropical storm Keila will take birth by Monday (June 6) near the coast of Mumbai.
·Over the next few days it will gain strength and turn into a big cyclone and head straight for Oman.
·It will hit Oman by Friday night. By then it will have turned into a super cyclone.
·The government and people of Oman will have to start preparing for the storm. The earlier the better. Unless the quirky Keila changes her mind and heads to Gujarat, Oman is going to face its fury.
·Wind speeds will be (when Keila hits Oman) in excess of 100 Kmph. And these are Conservative estimates.
·There will heavy rainfall in Oman . Especially Muscat and northern parts of the country.
·Leila will make landfall at Khaluf town in Oman by Friday evening. The towns of Adam and Nizwa will face the brunt of the storm and rain.
·Because of the storm rainfall is likely in Southern Pakistan, especially Karachi on June 9, Thursday. Also in India Saurashtra too will have intermittent rainfall as Keila passes by. The winds at the Gujarat coast are likely to be very strong over the next one week -

I am with u, there is some prior contingency plan ,but do u think this plan able to cover all places?from my side of Course no cause this plan may cover the most affected places only
Last year It happened in my place that two stucked in the middle of wadi and no one come for rescue till one of them was died. The emergency has always come in stoppage time,this is the truth broth. -

I been informed there are prior planing all over the country however i cannot tell u its gonna be 100% effective
u know as well as i do when a storm hits u cannot say how bad its gonna be & most of the time even the rescuer crew wont be able to make it where help is need at the same time -
Few Tip on
How to prepare for a Cyclone
Compile a list of emergency phone numbers and keep
it somewhere that is visible to all family members.
Nominate an interstate family member or friend to be
a point of contact in case you and your family become
separated during the cyclone.
Find out if your home is located in an area that could
be prone to storm surge or flooding by contacting your
local council.
Identify the strongest part of the
house (usually the smallest room)
and ensure everyone knows where
this is in case you need to
seek shelter in your home
Ensure at least one person in your
household knows first aid. -
Prepare an Emergency Kit
Every family should have a fully stocked Emergency Kit
stored safely in their home.
This should include a portable radio, a torch, spare
batteries, first aid kit, non-perishable food, sturdy gloves,
waterproof bags, candles, matches, essential medications
and copies of important documents (eg insurance details,
birth certificates, prescription refills) in sealable
plastic bags.
Queensland Ambulance Service recommends that families
include the following in their First Aid Kit:
Keeping
a lightweight
portable gas cooker
in your garage may be
useful in the event of
a long-term power
disruption.

Preparing for Cyclones
1 packet of plastic strips
1 roll of non-allergenic tape
sterile eye pads
4 triangular bandages
1 conforming gauze bandage
1 sterile combine dressing
1 stainless steel scissors
square gauze swabs
1 bottle antiseptic cream
1 wound closure steri-strip
1 bottle antiseptic solution
5 alcohol swabs -
Develop an evacuation plan
It is essential that you spend a few
minutes with your family now to
talk about what you will do if an
evacuation becomes necessary.
Remember that evacuations are only ordered if
storm surge or flooding is likely.
c Identify a safe place to evacuate to if storm surge or
floods are threatening. Family or friends who live in
secure accommodation that is further inland and on
higher ground are the best option.
c Listen to local Community Service Announcements (on
radio, television and in newspapers) to identify the
preferred evacuation routes for your area.
c Ensure you have a supply of fuel stored safely in your
garage in case you need to evacuate at short notice.
c Practise a drill with your family to ensure everyone is
familiar with the evacuation plan -

they said its direction will be to Oman
so still we dont know
allah only know where it will go
so i hope if we pay to allah to save Oman and all Omani ppl from cyclone
