I am coming back with different type of stories

Motivational Stories

Which can motivate us
and
change our thought to the better
a part from that
improving our English language

Here I will post the first story
which is

Nothing Is Impossible

After the turmoil of the Second World War,
there was a young boy living in Russian-occupied East Germany.

When he attended fourth grade
he had to learn Russian as his first foreign language in school.
He found this quite hard because of the Cyrillic alphabet,
but as time went on he seemed to do all right.

When he turned 11 his family had to leave East Germany
overnight because of the political orientation of his father.
Now he was living in West Germany,
which was American-occupied at that time.
All children were required to learn English at school.

If learning Russian had been difficult,
English seemed impossible for him.
He had the impression that his mouth was not made for speaking English!
His teachers struggled.
His parents suffered.
And he knew English was definitely not his language.
But then something changed his destiny…
As boys usually do,
he dreamed of better days.
He loved to ride his bicycle to the airport
and watch airplanes take off and land.
He read, studied, and learned everything he could about aviation.
He desired to become a pilot.

In the eyes of his mind,
he could see himself in the cockpit of an airliner
or in a military fighter plane.
He felt deep inside this was his thing!
(He created his own motivational stories.)
Then he heard that to make this dream come true…

He had to learn English!

All of a sudden to the total surprise of everybody
it appeared as if his mouth had changed.
He was determined to face the challenge.
With work, persistence, and patience,
he was able to speak English!

Soon after turning 18,
he started serving the West German Air Force.
Later, he became a chief pilot
and then an executive for Lufthansa Airlines.

Nowadays, Dieter F. Uchtdorf leads an organization
with more than 13,000,000 members.
He keeps traveling around the world
to fulfill his assignments,
and speaks English most of the time.
What made that difference?
He changed his motives. A new language captured his interested when he identified that as an essential tool to fulfill his mission.

Let me rephrase this last paragraph
as it contains the main concept of this chapter

You will learn a language faster
when you identify it as an essential tool
to accomplish your highest goals
