أوقفت السلطات المصرية أمس من يوصف بالزعيم الجديد لتنظيم القاعدة، محمد إبراهيم مكاوي، الملقب ب " سيف العدل " ، وهو اللقب الذي تم تداول اسمه أخيراً في منتديات إسلامية باختياره خليفة لزعيم التنظيم أسامة بن لادن، الذي استهدفته القوات الأمريكية بباكستان العام الماضي، فيما نفى مكاوي أن يكون هو " سيف العدل " المتهم بقيادة التنظيم .
وجرى توقيف مكاوي أثناء عودته من باكستان، وتم منعه من دخول البلاد لإدراج اسمه ضمن قوائم الترقب، فيما ذكرت مصادر مقربة من الجماعات الإسلامية أن مكاوي كان يعرف أنه سيتم توقيفه بالمطار، وكان حريصاً على تسليم نفسه للسلطات، والتي قامت بإحالته إلى نيابة أمن الدولة العليا للتحقيق معه . وقد وصل مكاوي إلى مطار القاهرة من دون وثيقة سفر أو بطاقة طيران، وذكر في التحقيقات المبدئية معه أنه ليس " سيف العدل " ، الذي تطالب به الولايات المتحدة، واتهامها له بأنه متورط في أي من القضايا الموجهة إليه من جانب الإدارة الأمريكية . وتابع: إن " سيف العدل "* هو شخص آخر يدعي محمد صلاح زيدان، وكان ضابطاً سابقاً بالجيش المصري، " وتقمص شخصيتي وادعى أنني هو " ، متهماً أجهزة أمنية سابقة بمباحث " أمن الدولة "* بتسريب بيانات خاصة به تزعم أنه " سيف العدل " ، " بالرغم من أن هذه الأجهزة تعلم جيداً شخصيتي، كما أنني سبق أن كذّبت ما تردد عن أنني " سيف العدل " ، بعدما أعلن عن اختياري قائداً لتنظيم القاعدة، خلفاً لبن لادن "* .
وكان مكاوي عمل ضابطاً بالجيش المصري، وخرج من البلاد عام 1994 متوجهاً إلى أفغانستان، غير أنه كان مطلوباً في إحدى قضايا أمن الدولة العليا، من دون أن يتم الإعلان عن قائمة الاتهامات التي طالته، في الوقت الذي تتهم فيه السلطات الأمريكية " سيف العدل "* بقيادة معسكرات تنظيم القاعدة في كل من أفغانستان والسودان، والتورط في تفجير السفارتين الأمريكية في دار السلام بتنزانيا ونيروبي بكينيا عام ،1998 وعرضت واشنطن 5 ملايين دولار لمن يدلي بتفاصيل عن مكان اختبائه، كما سبق أن تم توقيفه بمصر عام ،1978 إثر اتهامه بالانضمام لتنظيم الجهاد .
