I think it is difficult question. Native speakers of English are in the minority these days, that is undeniable. And the effect of non-native speaker

on English is very large too. ..

I can say that from our childhood that Indian teachers tough us & they have another pronunciation & surely, that make effect in student. ..

Anyway, this question can be endlessly debated, but I think that the schools and students need to decide upon attainable goals and find teachers that are appropriate for good level. at least we need to get a teacher with an masters in English that they are well in English. ..
..which are able to speak fluently the language

Nice topic my dear

I am with you of that with native speaker teachers
we will have the feeling for language
and how to use it in different contexts
a part from that
we will have the wareness of cultural background
which affects language use
and do not have “foreign sounding” accent


However, there are som benefits
of nonnative speaker teachers

non native speakers have gone through
process of learning language themselves
they know potential pitfalls & solutions
and they are living proof that
learning language to high level is achievable

But even at Universities an colleges weneed some native speakers.. Because talking with native speakers is an importantfactor that helps us to talk and improve our English skills..

But what we can do!!.. Government knowabout that and I’m sure 100% and they have the ability to do it.. But maybe theythink about Omanis teachers.
