      Hi everybody


      Everyday we hear people are dying in accidents especially young people and usually the reason for that is high speed

      The great shock for me was Last two weeks when I lost one of my relatives in accident

      I remember how hard the situation was,,, when I was standing at the corner with broken heart and watching my family members crying around

      we were waiting for his wedding in next may , but everything gone now


      The statistics indicate that the number of people die in accident in Oman are increasing , by looking to OMAN ROYAL POLICE website we find that ( just only in the last week ) 11 people killed and 89 injured in 165 accidents
      !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
      And this number in increasing,

      So what shall we do to stop this ???

      I know how you feel, and no wonder you brought us a very important topic to read and discuss

      Car Accidents
      Speeding, meant nothing to us but tears, grief, sadness and sorrow
      What do we need to stop it, to prevent it
      You get caught for speeding, pay the fine and never the penalty, and here we go again…..speeding again, more accidents, more injured and dead

      Guidance all we need to start with, we need to know the dangers speeding cause, and not just pay a fine for speeding
      Young people should be taught and instructed at all levels that speeding is deadly, they should know that driving a car means they are using a road, and they are not alone on the road. A road that in most cases was not designed for speeding but for safe slow drive
      Penalties should be reviwed, every thing but not the money part. Banning from driving, license withdrawal, imprisonment, courses

      Sorry, I have so much in mind but unable to put it all in one visit, let us hear from you dear brothers and sisters, I’m sure you have so much to add

      yes dear as u said Guidance all we need to start with & even with this huge campaign of Omani Police in TV , we need to an actions taking by people , not only by the government , Guidance should be everywhere , in the TV , in the Mosque in the read everywhere .....
      How many children became an orphan because of the accidents, how many woman became a widow woman because of accidents.

      Yes, Accidents have become the most threating civil problem we have here in Oman..Not just Oman actually, but most of the GCC countries...

      We should all cooperate to spread awareness between young drivers that Speed is just a Killing Machine...

      Everytime, we loose very good and young people, which whole Oman loose in turn...

      Accidents killing many people and have very negatives consequences which reach everybody in the society without exception:
      - Killing many people (The worst consequence)
      - Spending millions of Rials in the treatment of injured people & fixing cars.
      - causing many people to be handicap peoples.

      - increasing of the insurance price, even who drive carefully are suffering from this increasing.

    • ,I want to make on point clear from my personnel prospective which is that most of the accident are self driven i.e. the driver him self is fully responsible about any accident. Today we are having very good roads and clear signs on them compared to the past.
      My message here is to take every precaution when driving.

    • Thank you brother for your reply and thanks all for their appreciated valuable contribution. Regarding the most and major mistakes that drivers do while driving I can remember some of them which are highly important:
      Talking in the phone while driving
      Speeding
      Talking to the driver assistant
      watching the surrounding and the beuyy of it
      careless driving
      eating while driving
      Overtaking in prohibited areas (crossing the yellow lines)
      Speeding in the bad weathes
      Entering the road before making sure that it is save.
      and many more.
      Wish you all pleasent and healthy life.
      Although it is good to remind ourselves that Todad the whole world is celebrating the World Medical Day by which his Majesty is highly supporting the contribution of our country to this day which took the subject of Safe Driving.

      Look at me, I have a mobile, and I can talk while driving, and not only that but I can eat and drink too

      I wonder if the above is something to be proud of or something no one has the slightest bit of sense and logic would do

      I wonder when most of us go for the full option car whereas we do not use the basic option in any car i.e. indicators

      Look at me, drivig fast, I guess I will not ever realize that I will be the victim and the killer soon, I'm here to kill other people and kill my self

      We need to think again, and listen to Hamad2004, listen to the sense

      Once again, let us all remember, some one back at home is waiting to see us back safe

    • Thanks for all and I think that the message is getting acroos. One thing to add is please whenever you have to buy a car just save 30 minutes from your time to check all safety instrumenst and facilities attached to it and make sure that they are perfectly functionning.
      Another point is IF you alreay have a car ant it gets to the time you need to change oil you remember to make a full check of all other fluids and Air in tyres for only 10 RO in order to give youself a bit of confidence while driving and sure that your car will nor park in .

      We’re young driver is the main cause of car accident. The most of us read about what’re the reasons causing the accident and some times we attend sermon or some times we see an accidents on the road and people injured or dead, unfortunately after all these thing we just get onto the car and start inculcating all those causes without learning about what we have seen or told or learned. The fun things you will find law enforcement breaking the rules by over speed or entering where it is not allowed to entered etc...etc. Most of us jus walk out on and repeating the same mistakes, only thing that’s we know is blaming others about what they had done but we are not looking at our faults and how to correct them. If every one start ask himself why he has to do a childish mistake which can cost him his life or other innocent people’s life. Wakeup folks lets learn from other’s mistakes and do our best to avoid them
