    1. have ever wanted something so bad which was so hard to get and you try your best but you didn't get it any way feel free to talk about it am glad i got what i have and sad that i didn't get one thing i wanted so bad but thank god for everyt

    • Thanks missy, you are making us think out loud..
      Alhamdulillah I got what I wanted so far.. The thing is, if I want something so bad, I will do anything and everything to get it, I struggle a lot, work hard and fight for it. Sometimes, at some point, I dont feel like wanting it any more.. Another thing is, I want many things so bad, and I get one thing which is always the best of all what I wanted. So I dont feel sorry for what I havent got because I have something better alhamdulillah.

      There are few things that i wanted so bad and couldnt get them, but i realised that it was good that i didnt, patience is very important for me, and im quite ready to wait forever if I really want to get whatever is "that thing"

      After all, alhamdulillah millions of times..

      and we keep imagining and believing that our lives would definately be much better if we had that thing

      and we forget that what we have is another persons dream

      so... we have to be grateful for what we have
      but should not stop there.. or else our lives would be boring and with no goal

      since i was a kid i had a dream of studying a certain major
      when i had the chance and wen t to university
      i did not study that major and i studies something completely different

      Thats what i really wanted so bad and did not get
      oh well.. al7amdullah anyways ..

      Major is not that critical point, and let me here talk about something else

      I strongly believe universities do not qualify us to be what our major implie. Engineering students are never Engineers, Doctors too, teachers as well

      It is experience and work and what we do after graduating that matters. We are funny sometimes, a first year student at engineering and we start to call him engineer, NO WAY
      He/She has a long time before he/she is an engineer

      Unis and colleges, or schools as called some where are there to build our personality, make us understand life a bit more, develop our talents....etc

      I disagree because that's not what I have seen. All the people whom I met studied what they had to become now. An education student, became a teacher, an engineering student became an engineer, an accounting student became an accountant, an IT student is an IT employee. The problem is, it is in Oman that you dont get the job that is appropriate to what you have studied. It has nothing to do with the universities. They qualify you to be what you have to be when you are done with your degree. Not to become something else. Of course you dont expect to get exactly the same career you have always wanted but you can start with something lower and then work up your way to what you want. It needs effort and hard work. Nothing is easy to get

      Educational institutes (unis, colleges, centres...etc) are not there only to build our personalities and talent, they are there to educate us in the first place and the personality thing is our responsibility when we communicate and interact with others, talents is our job also to improve it, you dont expect your lecturer to spoon feed you, do you?? At least I dont!!I

      You can still have a strong personality when you are not at uni, before or after maybe, you can develop your talents through special courses for self development, you can understand life from experiences and people around you, not only educational institutes. I personally think that it's us who decide what to do and how to do things..

      Yet, I agree with you that work experience utilize what you have learned but if you dont know what you are doing and go to a work where you learn something totally new, then it will take you longer time than if you went through an educational institute whether a uni or a college. For example, you can become an accountant if someone teaches you how to do it, but isn't it easier to study it and then practice what you learned? So do educational institutes qualify you to become one or not? If you are asked to develop a website, aren't you suppose to be familiar with the programming languages for web development? is it easier to let someone teach you or knowing already what to do? some people learn it from practice, others take courses, but the thing is you have background and learned it before...

      That was a long comment about what you said and I just wanted to let you know what I think :)

      Thank you dear, and remember it is also in Oman that education students become teachers and enginnering ones become engineers, I meant you cannot be engineer once you are graduated. Well you are, but you are not in fact

      Compare engineering students in our developing countries and europe and US, our institutions make it difficult for the students, this is a fact

      Meanwhile in thw west it is much easier, why? Simply because they, in the west, suppose the student is going to get the benefit after graduation, working in an industrial environment. Here they want to make the student get as much as he can to learn something while at the university......GOT MY POINT?i

      Let me say something else...we go to uni, young, shy, cannot even be able to talk proper ARABIC, we finish, with personality, and speak proper ARABIC and ready for OMAN TV and Youth Radio interviews

      Well, I know I am talking in general

    • For me, ever since i was a kid i've always wanted to be a pilot! however,things
      didn't work out well for me to be that. although i had the chance to fulfill my dream
      at the last minute i drifted away and went on to study something else. i look back
      and think that i did the right thing and yet i have this inner feeling of wonder... Anyway, perhaps i would still have that chance one day :) who knows

      and it took me only a month to learn it, by asking one of my brothers here #i

      Simple, you are here now, replying.....select the test you want to allign, and while selected just go for the font, size, coulour, bold, italic, underlined, left-right, right-left or just middle

      You see, very very simple :P
      and by the way I'm not into computers though I work with and on them
