Introduction:
As before the crow of Alsaha ship decided to make a new trip for the members
But in this trip we will visit new island…. This island is (languages section)
When We arrived in this island we find a lot of childes upset …. Everybody was amazing for that
The problem was that most of childes have learning difficulties …..
So let’s face this problem together
(Learning difficulties)
We will solve it as following:
- Introduction to specific learning disabilities
- Characteristics of learning disabilities
- Causes of learning disabilities
Also we will take kinds of learning disabilities:
I’ll show video about Disorders of reading: Dyslexia
* Introduction to specific learning disabilities:
Before we start to solve this problem we have to know the definition of learning disabilities
So the term learning disability in my opinion is a problem in learning like in reading and I think
This is mostly happened with childes ….. but I quoted this definition from a book “ it is used to describe a specific group of children, adolescents and adults who have a problem in learning. These problems are generally in the areas of reading, writing , spellings and mathematics. Parents and teachers usually discover the problem when the child fails to cope with school work. Teachers may notice a great difference between the child’s oral performance, which is usually very good, and the written work. Surprisingly, there is a great deal of individual variation among children with a learning disability.
Parents provide different versions of the disability:
“My ten-year old daughter Priya hates to read. She reads very slowly, often misses letters, and cannot pronounce simple words.”
“Deepak cannot copy from blackboard, his handwriting is illegible and the teacher is always complaining about his poor spelling. He forgets names of places cannot identify characters in a story and has a limited vocabulary.”
As you see guys there are some messages about some childes who have learning disability …..
Know after knowing about this issue lets go to the next place in this island to know more about Characteristics of learning disabilities…..
Here a frequent question asked by parents and educators is :” what are the signs and symptoms that help one recognize whether a child is learning disabled or careless and inattentive?
Dear readers it is not true to say that all underachieving students are learning disabled ….but I quoted some characteristics that have been identified as widely prevalent in individuals with learning disability:
- Hyperactivity
- Perceptual impairment
- Emotional lability
I can’t explain them here but if want to know anyone of them just tell me…
Finally I’ll tell you about the causes of learning of disabilities:
Of course it is important to know the causes of this problem….. But if the teacher didn’t know these causes it is difficult to recognize between a student if the is careless or has learning disability ……anxious parents would like to know exactly why their child is not reading or spelling
Like other children…… the general feeling is that if they know what causes a learning disability they may be in position to prevent it.
A lot of causes but here I’ll talk about two of them ….
The first one is genetic factors:
The exact nature of the relationship between genetic and learning disability remains obscure
But evidence does suggest that members within a family have a tendency towards learning disability. Hallgren (1950) found that 88 per cent of the families of dyslexic children showed similar learning problem. Hermann (1959) examined dyslexia in twins and reported that of the twelve sets of identical (monozygotic) twins, all members were dyslexic. But when the study was conducted with thirty-three pairs of fraternal (dysgotic) twins, therefore more researchers is needed to prove a definitive relationship between learning disability and family genetic patterns.
The second one is the role of the environment:
There are several factors in the child’s environment which may result in a learning disability. In economically deprived homes, the child may not expose to adequate sensory, linguistic and cognitive activities. For example, if a child is never given opportunity to go to school, this would obviously result in the absence of basic academic skills. An emotionally unstable home life may deprive the child of any motivation to learn also poor quality teaching in school can also cause a learning disability.
