Secret to Success

A young man asked Socrates the Secret to Success

Socrates told the young man to meet him near the river next morning. They
met. Socrates asked the young man to walk with him towards the river

When the water got up to their neck Socrates took the man by surprise and
ducked him into water. The boy struggled to get out but Socrates was strong &
kept him there untill the man started turning blue. Socrates pulled his head
out of water & the first thing the man did was to take adeep breath of air

Socrates asked "What did you want the most when you were there".i

The man replied "A I R".i

Socrates said "That is the secret to Success. When you want Success as badly
as you wanted the air you will get it. There is no other secret."i

Just as a small fire cannot give much heat a weak desire cannot produce
results

Thanks Bint eLkuwait and appreciate your comment.. true what you said and tell you what, you will never feel the taste of success if you dont work hard for it, especially when you were waiting desperately to see the results of your hard work

Hey Whisper,
Yeah, it does show us a good lesson of what sort of a result we get when we do something. At least when we work hard to get something, we value it and we do appreciate it as well as others.

Tenderness,
from what you said, it means even the other man is wise, because he will then understand why Socrate had to do that to him. We are all wise to some degree because we all go through the process of decision making and research periods. At the same time, there are things that we dont know and we need to find out answers.

these sort of lessons make us look deeply into life and how to understand it.. thanks Tenderness

I believe that success is not always a sure sing of merit, but it is a first rate way to succeed….

and just what all of u said before it's wonderful when we succeed in something after working hard on it. This success will have a different test

However there is only one success from my point of view which is to be able to spend your life in your own way

Thanks heaps Miss Bomb, but with no discarding your comment, I dont think the one success is to live life your own way at all. We have a religion that we are following and we are living the way Allah wants us to live, to live it our way I dont think is a success but reaching the level of connecting our value, tiny believes and behaviors to this religion is the success, the success is to over come your anger, the success is to be patience when you are facing the hardest time of your life, the one that I think is the one success is being able to feel satisfied with our deeds in this life, which is something impossible!!i

I apperciate your comment though and different people would have different measures for success..

but my point is not what u think I mean by that is to have ur own living way without trying to imitates other just be ur self.

My point is not about my religion's believes which I'm doing my best to obligate it but to live ur own life not other people life.
