Our friend is trying to get the meaning of

بخ بخ

Arent you familiar with this terminology ???

This word has been used by one of the Sahaba of Prophet Mohammed

He said this word when he say the Muslims fighting and he was eating some dates. He said :

بخ بخ ، ليس بيني و بين الجنة إلا أن اقتل في سبيل الله

So, He threw these dates and fought to death

The Question is ..

What did he mean by
بخ بخ

بَخْ بوزن بل كلمة تقال عند المدح والرضا بالشيء وتكرر للمبالغة فيقال بَخْ بَخْ فإن وصلت خفضت ونونت فقلت بَخٍ بَخٍ وربما شددت كالاسم فقيل بخ

I could not think of another, and I could not find another

we tend to forget what once, long back ago, was been used... stating the example you brought made it easier to remember...

Wow thats a very old word, heard of it decades ago.. lol

At first I thought it is a word used to scare someone, but then I remembered that it was mentioned in the hadeeth. I guess well done does give a close meaning to it, but with the meaning given above I guess there is no exact translation for it other than "well well' or 'well done' or 'very good'...etc
