The strongest clans of japan, the Heike and the Genji, are at the dawn of a five year conflict,
later to be known as the Gempei war. Kiso Yoshinaka, a powerful Genji lord, responds to the call of the late prince mochihito to raise arms against the Heike, and heads north, towards the mountains.

Two switchable weapons (sword and bow)
A unique combat system
Seven different types of arrows
Sixteen ranks of enemies and three unique bosses
A multitude of power-ups
Wear up to four different armor types
Detailed statistics at the end of each level
Particle system allowing for advanced effects such as snow
