      Introduction
Radio Sultanate of Oman began broadcasting on a 1KW transmitter on 30th July 1970, just one week after HM Sultan Qaboos bin Said came to power, from a small station at Bait al Falaj in Ruwi, near Muscat. In the following year, transmissions began from Salalah

      .
In 1972, a new medium wave station was inaugurated and in 1979, the Muscat and Salalah stations were linked by satellite. The number of Arabic transmission hours increased from four hour per day in 1970 to round-the-clock transmission from 1 November 1998
      .

The transmission frequencies are 1242 kHz from the Muscat station and 738 kHz from Salalah, while the relay station in Haima transmits on 576 kHz medium wave. Arabic programmes are broadcast via Radio Sultanate of Oman's own channel on the Arabsat satellite, Egyptian
Nilesat, and to Hot Bird 4 satellite as well as via the internet
      .
English FM programmes are broadcast 15 hours each day on frequencies 90.4 MHz from Muscat and Salalah, and 91.3 MHz from Thumrait
      .
In April 1999, the FM English language programmes began broadcasting via Arabsat 2 satellite
, located at 26 Deg East. These programmes may be heard through receiver setting frequency 4140 MHz, audio frequency 7.74 MHz, analogue reception system
      .
“These are some info about Radio of Oman, but that isn’t my topic here. Youth Program is one of the programs that I like listening to, but not everyday unless She’s there. Yes, Abeer makes the program sounds better and she puts the flavor on it
      ..
She’s fun, honest, straight and smart, but she also a Marketing Person. Omanmobile bought her for money. She also sold her voice to Nawras as well. To me, have no problem about that..
What do you think of her?? ( This is only a voting session, pls we don’t want any insultments)

How do you turn on the Voting Instruments in this site anyway, let me see??
    • speaking of ppl on the radio

what the hell is going on these days

      with

      Radio al-shabab

i heard them speaking half english and half arabic

here is what i heard one day when i was in Oman

      "هذا العملات الى هي الcoins"

      فضحونا لعنة الله على اليهود

if that radio station does not have proper ppl to do the job then shut it down
    • Come on Red Dragon...you shouldn't take it that way really..

People do make mistakes sometimes. It happens when you actually get stuck in the middle between English and Arabic, especially with those people who speak English a lot.

I know that a presenter should always be more careful, because he's not just representing himself but the whole nation. We would understand if the audience was only Omanis but everybody is listening to them because there's no other choice. How many Radio Stations do we have??

I actually wonder why so few..???
Is it because of the government legislations or something wrong with the investors?

That's his own idea about English FM in Oman and we respect his thought, don't we.??

I personally find it sometimes Enteresting and other times not, but in general FM has really improved a lot...

I remember the worst parts of it...6 years ago..

      Thanx for the respect brother

you really sound upset now.. are you?

I know the the Shabab program is really pointless and i can't tell where they will go with such program...
I do agree with you that the only point of the Shabab Program is spending time only....it's not informative at all

Abeer is a cute person and I got to met her personally a week ago, It was coincidence and I really enjoyed chatting with her...She's a fun person, thu she's not proud of her body yet...she kept making fun of it all the time

but in voting I'll give her Very Good as she has to work in respecting Omani's more..[/

I Love it when you say that " I don't care""
Who would care for Oman then.??

      We have to care>>

I guess it's something to do with the government>>., don't you agree??
there are ambitious people in Oman...but there are no chances for them
    • Very interesting discussion you guys have going on here :) i

About Abeer, she is fun and good, but personally i do not like her, i dont know.... the way she talks gets on my nerves. I sometimes feel she is faking the way she speaks .. which is annoying

If i would listen to this program .. it would be for the songs... unless i am REALLY really bored then i would listen to it and to the hilarious comments people make (which are hilariously SAD sometimes)i

I've been told that Abeer is not originally omani ... palestinian or something
