in my point of veiw, i would rather prefer a girl to study medecine on in the college of education for these arew most appropriate siyuations in which she should work. in engeneering she would find alot of difficulties dealing with lots of men for she needs a smooth environment to work as the nature of women. in our socity, they find it a shame for a lady to do an outsid-work jobs and also they would find it rather inappropriate for a lady to work in some situations

this is my point of veiw

I would say to you that our socity says alot of things ;however most
of them are not right ...also you must know that there are alot of departements in the college of engineering which are not against with smooth

engineering is one of the highest studies can woman reach

same as doctors ..lawyers .. etc

no one can stop anybody from reaching the highest positions

especially in education

if that is her aim ...... she should do it

well in my opinion I think girls could do some of the engineering studies the ones which deals with office work only not field work
I am doing engineering field work and i know how tough it is even for men
I dont think any girl specialy in our society could stay away from home for two weeks to work with men

yes i can say it is okay in some situations only, if the job requires inside office work but i strongly disagree if it deals with tough work. for example, in petroleum department, airoplane department or in telecommunication department it is really hard 4 them to deal with. if you say there are some other departments in college of engineering in which a woman can work, i would rather say there is, but very few of them are appropriate for here.

Sure she can, she can do whatever she likes. All options are open, but the ultimate result she will end up working as a secretary no more
Girls, our girls are not for engineering, if any does not trust me then go for it, and remember, it will take you 5 years to become a secretary

My cousis is a civil engineer and she goes to sites and works with her fellow colleages,,,, for more than ten years... and she is one of the best engineers in her company

i dont see what wrong with that

She is very conservative, and is happily married with children, none of that stopped her from doing what she likes and what she is excelent at!!!i

Its so ignorant to exclude women from certain jobs just for the mere fact that they are WOMEN

Just because she is a female doenst mean she has half the brain of the man and therefore is only suitable to be a secratery!!!!!i

wallah i dont believe there are still people who have this ideas

Assalam,
I personally do not see why girls can not study engineering as long as they like the major. We have many girls working as petroleum engineers and they are doing well. The point is what do you wan to be in the future and are you willing and mobile to accept the consequences. Today we (boys and girls) are having the confidence to select any major and work in any job we like but we have to progress and succeed.
To all if you like to be engineer go for it and work hard.

mrs. unfaithful you musnt ignore the fact that, "some jobs are not appropriate for women" also i cant beleive that fiminist reaches this climax in your opinoins. you people are comparing your physical abilities with that of men and the difference is as obvious as the sun. how come you say that they can work as labours, plumbers, heavy luggage carriers and firefighters or any hard physical jobs??? it is against there roles as god created them as women. if you think they have the right to be free as men, then why almighty god created them as women, he would have created them as one kind of human being.

Yes, i agree that some jobs are extreme and they make the woman loose her feminity

indeed you can say this for a non-muslim socity who seek for an environment in which both genders are alike. and you may know that this kind of action leads to some kind of a new socity which says, "let us be one gender." and you my sister absolutly know what the results are!!!

any way, as i mentiond in my previous replies that a woman is not qualified enough to do some kind of jobs.if she wants to be a man, which is imposible, then she can do all kind of jobs.

As an engineer I can say that girl should never ever do an engineering courseL, unless to related to the site work. We are suffering at sites, hot, dust and dangers…. So what they want to do. Also we visited a site with girls but they fail to go to the top of under construction building, so what they will or what is the benefit from visiting the site, also the refuse to ware the uniform L and safety equipment, they want to stay in the traditional Omani Cloth which against the safety rule

So … sorry girls …. Site is not your place.

Listen to me girls, do not try it. If you want to be a secretary do not waste your time for 5 years, use the short cut and you will be a good secretary in a month or two

It is not necessary for a girl to learn engineering so she can work in the field,,, they can be consultants and designers

Even if they work in the field - I have worked with so many girls in the oil fields in Oman, UAE, Yemen, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and they all do the same work that I do - it is true that they give me double work some times in the physical work , but they do extremely well in their job as good as guys do,,, I will say this again If you girl feel like learning engineering then go ahead but be sure that it is not easy as you think it is

If you work in the oil field - for example

you will need to stay weeks in the Rig site - with dust and hot weather

Girls dont listen to these retards Idea's - If you wish to learn something go ahead and do it follow what you want to do or else you are going to regret it later

hiiiii i am here i watn to tell u my opinion about ENG for girls but u closed ur private letter .....no think happen take it easy....

i read this Q in the site of SQU and alot of answers there..... u can read

no girls in ENG that is not good boys &girls work to gother to improve our love OMAN... of course all of specilizations are no good for girls.....

i think no girls can stay 1 week from her home( if u chose petrolum or gas)...but it depent on the girls.............
