A short speach I wrote as a home-work just thought of sharing it with you
all
Hello, my name is ******** and I’m here to talk about peace in our world or actually the lack of it. We see the news through the perspective of our media and unfortunately we get only one point of view and rarely do we ever see different perspectives on any issue that plagues our world.
I’ve seen so much throughout my life that leaves me wondering if achieving peace will ever be possible during our lifetimes or that of our decedents. Our media shows violence of every kind possible being practiced on people just like ourselves.
No matter what country we come from, no matter what our religion is, we human beings are all the same, we all want the same thing, we all want to love and to be loved and we all want peace and happiness for the people in the world. All of us want freedom and the right to make our own destiny but sadly for many that are being oppressed, that’s just not possible.
People don’t hurt other deliberately and without reason, all violence is caused by ignorance, it’s caused by a selfish desire to have happiness and satisfaction. Little do they know that happiness can only be achieved by having a sense of peace and content with what they’ve already got.
My love extends to all the people in the world, not merely as a Muslim but as a member of the human race. We must cultivate the emotions of love and compassion and eliminate ignorance, selfishness and greed
All of the problems we face today, violence, pollution, poverty and hunger stricken nations are man made problems which can be resolved through human effort, through the creation of a sense of community in this world, it can all be made better by simply realizing that we are all essentially the same and that we are all responsible for each other and the planet that we all live on.
We as individuals cannot achieve much; peace seems like such a daunting task when it seems like we must tackle violence by ourselves but when we think of peace as something all people must demand and fight for, the means of achieving it seem clear, alone it will be impossible to achieve peace but if we work together not as individuals but as human beings working together for a common goal it will be more than merely possible it will be a reality.
