superstitions in Oman

In the past superstition effected Omani people's life by many ways.......they believed in many superstitions. swindler people used superstitions to abuse others........they convinced them that they will heal or protect them from evil.

unfortunately some people fell as victims in Oman.......for instance
if a child was born , its family will slaughter a cock and then they put some of the cock's blood on the child's nose$$t
they thought that by this deed the child will live for along time ......

when a child is in three months , they put eyeliner on the child's eyebrows ......
they believe that the eyeliner will make his eyebrows big.....[ATTACH=CONFIG]77704[/ATTACH]and beautiful .

also, some people didn't a accept putting a mirror in the front of the child . they said that the child will lose his sight ......

( superstitions had an influence in Omani people's life)

are very common, I heard about it many times
in different situations

I don't believe in situations at all
and I don't even like even to think about it

did you saw some of them or anything else related to superstition??

i don't know what you want exactly
but if you mean seeing people believe in superstition
I know people believe on it and they practice it on their life

I don't believe it
I think that the superstition is
am incident happened in a certain situation
and repeated in the same situation in a different time
after all that incident
people thought that it will always happen
so by this they developed the superstition

i heard a lot about superstition
and i used to hear about them
when i will be armed with enough knowledge
about them i will be glad to participate in your topic

actually I don't want to believe that I am superstitious
but sometimes when things happen repeatedly over and over again at the same time for the same reason
you tend to think that there is something .. lets say a cause
and that's usually how people become superstitious
I think
generally speaking, we are forbidden to believe in these things

u may say 5% only which i can't recall any at this moment

it make some of them cowardly or pessimistic or brave and many things

so i prefer if people dont believe superstitions even if its true until they see by them self
dont let the story effect their life in bad way
