why we dont Read!!!!

    • why we dont Read!!!!

By looking to our Arab societies we find this are right but sure, not to all people but for the majority of them what are reasons for that, well that what I want to discuss it with you.

Although our religion asks us to read, although our traditions encourage us to read, although all facilities are available to us, we simply don’t want read ……why??????
Back to our society the first place that child learn to read and write is school and I find students reach secondary and they even don’t know how to read and write in the right way.
      What a disappointed situation!!!!!!!!!!
So is this problems cause by following wrong curriculum
In our schools or by following wrong way to educate the child at home …..??

Well I want to hear opinions of oman0 members in this significant issue.

    • Thank you Professional for the topic
To tell you the truth, the impression I got was you meant reading for the sake of reading, to know more, widen our knowledge, extra reading to educate ourselves away from the schools

But found you talking about how weak we are in reading and writing as schools and unversity students

Yea you are absolutely right, and the funny thing I saw many writing peoms and stll make many many spelling mistakes

Well, I do not think cirriculum itself suffers but rather with those teaching it, well some of them to be honest, they would not correct pupils, and the poor pupils think they are doing it right
I have seen some got good marks but looking to the answers they made, one would only laugh.....desrve nothing

Home, family do not follow up, sorry but I remember mother giving me the newspaper to read, and sorry again, I got many slaps that really proved to be useful later on

Well, Iam sure some of our dear friends here would put us in a clearer picture of the situation

      Thank you dear

    • Like Tenderness, at first i got confused by the implications of the topic's title! Anyway, the issue discussed is equally important. I may not be the best person to start throwing blame on who's responsible nor start pointing fingers at the system of education or those who implement it. As first of all, i dont think that this is the case! This might as well be a shared responsibility between schools and homes. I think that most teachers at schools do their best to deliver proper education to students. However, this may not be enough by any means. The process of education should be extended beyond the walls of schools. In that matter, its a responsibility layed upon those at home
    • Dear evaporator
Thank you very much and welcome back one again

The title of the topic confused me, and it did confuse our dear The Master, and it looks it confused you too. It did not take us long to realize that our dear Professional never meant reading as an extra thing to do, or to enrich our knowledeg

He siply meant that we do not have the ability to read in the correct way, we are weak in reading, we cannot say pronounce right, he meant................... , he meant

      Thanks evaporator
