      Actually, I didn’t want to write this topic but I remember one person who was in this situation which made think a lot what to do to if I were a doctor . I hope this issue is the most argumentative topic that can help you to write ur opinion honestly.

      A difficult problem that is facing society is the legalization of euthanasia, القَتْل الرحيم‏,
      Another word of mercy killing. Euthanasia is a method of causing death painlessness to end suffering. People who are in a coma, unconscious state, because of accident and elderly people who are terminally ill because of incurable disease are being kept alive by artificial means. They do not have a chance to recover, but our country laws do not allow doctors to end their lives. however, in my opinion, euthanasia should be legalized for several reasons.
      The first and most important reason to support euthanasia is that these patients have no chance of recovery. They can never lead normal lives and must be kept alive by life- support machines such as respirators to help them breathe and feeding tubes to provide them with nutrition. They are clearly more dead than alive and will never be able to live a normal life.
      Another reason to support mercy killing is that medical costs are very high. Today the cost of hospital room is too much per a day. For basic care. The high cost of medical care can cause financial problems for the family. The final reason to support the legalization euthanasia is that the family suffers. Thus, the family must spend time to care for special needs of their love one.
      In the end, because terminally ill patients have no chance to recover and to live normal lives, they should be allowed to die with dignity. Therefore, the family should have the right to ask doctors to turn off the life-support machines or to stop further medical treatment. To prolong life artificially when there is no hope for the future is a tragedy both for the patients and for their loves ones.

      With all what you mentiomed from reasons and excuses I belive ALLAH has HIKMA with all he is doing, ALAH is testing and experimenting us to see how much belief we have, how much patience we have, and I am sure all will be rewarded in the eternal life

      Let us do all our best and leave it all to ALLAH. Allah has decided how much we live, so leave to ALLAH

    • in my opinion, it depends on the circumstances. each case is totaly different and the elements of the illness , the family emotional and financial capabilities all together could decide wether mercey killing is an option or not

      i have seen a documentary about Dr. Kavorkian. I am sure we all heard of him. the situation of the people that he "healed" were so sad, and yes death can be much peacful for those people than a life of pain for them and thier family

      again, it souldnt be a random act, but a well thought of one. Life is meant to be fruitful and enjoyable, why should one live in pain when he has an option of rest and peace??s

    • i dont think that what was written is correct ... for simple reson ... who gives us our life is our ALAH .. and who will take it is ALAH too ... so WHO am us to make diseions to end their life.... what ever if he was living with the support machins .. this is like exam for both who is ill or for his family

      then how do you categorize the "Mujahideen"?? who risk thier lives and put themselves in feilds of battle knwoing they are going to die.. and they do?? Are you saying that they should have sat home and waited til "god takes thier lives""?
      For them, Death is worth much more than this life.
      I know i am drifting away, but my point is not all cases are defined by "God only can take our lives"

      We are humans, and we have certain and different limits on handling misfortunes, and we get really weak and vulnrable if those limits were met

      I think that God loves his children, and that he would never want them to live in torture and pain

      In ramadan, isnt it that if fasting was hard on us and we cannot go on with it for a sickness or illness or even travelling , that we can break the fast???. now this is speaking of fasting only, imagine Living the rest of your life, when you're not actually alive but rather a vegetable or in constant pain

      God didnt say torture yourself and live in pain and suffering that You CANNOT handle to be a decent muslim.

    • in ramadhan ... this something else ... we are fastiing to to what alah ask us to do... to get his haven ... but when we can't be fast for ill thats something else dear ...and whom u said about Mujahideen who are doing what they can to return their land to them ... to have piece and protection for their childern and family..
      . but when u finished a human life just cz he is feeling pain with his illness, u dont know alah may make him fine ...Mo3jzza.. hope u can get the word .. alah can return his life for him this can happened ... and its happened ...so how could us finished a life for someone who can recover just when god say it .....


    • Very interesting, yet very hard to decide whether to agree or disagree.

      Couple of weeks ago, i've seen a documentary movie about this Australian old lady who suffered in her life for a long time from medicine that is treating her ect. She with a group of other people wanted to live happily, wanted to die peacfully, wanted to avoid feeling the pain. I think, if the person himself chose to undertake the socalled mercy killing then go for it. But even with this killing, we are also depending on God to let us die peacefully. I can see it also as suicide too because if you take medicine to kill yourself greadually, then it makes you no different than those drug addicts, smokers....etc

      In the case of mujahedeen, they dont go out for war or battles with the aim of coming back for their family. No, their aim is to protect the religion first, then our land. Surely, everyone would want to go back to their families but they know that going there you either die or win the battle. That's up to God to choose for you the appropriate ending.

      Miracles dont happen all the type, and if they happen, they happen for a reason!!! To learn from it in most cases. Does the miracle happen with every single person? No because we're all gonna die at the end

      My opinion, it's up to the person's decisions and not a decision taken by the doctor. Or maybe at least the family of the sick person.

      ALBARON, no one can make us live longer, but it seems to us that we are so. In fact, they are just making it easy for us to accept the fact that we are dying, maybe. If I didnt die today no matter how sick Iam, it's just not my day. Thanks a lot for the nice topic

      It's better to began with what's Allah Almighty says about this case
      He is the only one who has the power over us and the only one who decide when our life ends and where

      Some time Allah Almighty wants to test us with sickness to see if we really trust and believe in him >>>> who are we anyway to deiced if this is the end of our life or not

      Allah tested prophet Aiube by loosing his sons and wife …. He tasted him with sickness … he didn't kill himself but thanks Allah for every thing because he believes in him

      Of course we are not like the prophets who are far above mistakes but they can be examples for us

      That's all what I have

      It is like Prophet Ayoob when he was afflicted with plague but he didn’t kill himself coz he knew that Almighty Alah will help him.


      But somebody mentioned that mercy killing sometimes helps patient to stop his or her suffering. I think this writer said that because he sympathized with the situation. I wrote this subject coz I faced this situation. So it was really difficult I known the verse very well but I could not bear watching him suffering.
      Actually, I wrote this subject to know if I was right or not coz I left him to face his death by himself.

      It is really difficult situation. You may write according to ur religion and belief and it is easy to write but Walah it is too difficult to face the truth.
      I hope you will not face this situation one day.

    • Islam is a merciful religion, simple and understand. If that's the case about mercy killing being so rejected then why under extreme circumestances it is allowed for muslim people to eat non-halal food or pork?? I see it in the same case. When you are really under a severe situation where you think sometimes the things that are prohibited or not recommended should be done, then we wont be punished for it, nor get any rewards. God asked us to do everything in our best of level of ability and not just leave things not knowing what the end is going to be. But also there are situations when you really can't do anything about it and it's so obvious that it is impossible, unless God does a miracle at that moment.

      Yeah there are many things that are prohibited and things that are not recommended but I remember I read some lines from the mufti ibn el3uthaimin, that in some cases
      تباح المحظورات في الحالات الصعبة

      So realisticly, we should know that at some point we will eventually need to do something prohibited, another example is the while lie, we all know that lying is prohibited, but if we are trying to solve a problem between two (اصلاح ذات البين) then we can lie so we do need sometimes to do what is prohibited or not recommended to be done under severe cases

      The case of mercy killing is different. It is when a person has a perminant illness with no cure. It is a case when physical pain is unbearable, and the person suffers very second. This is a point where Death is much more peacfull and less painfull.

      Mercy killing is not about asking to be killed becasue of greif, saddness, or simply being hopeless in life. This is suicide!!! which is giving up faith, hope and loosing trust in God. This is the case when, as Miss Bomb said, a person has to have some gratitude and trust in God, no matter what hardship he goes through in life.

      Even if it is a different case it has the same meaning at the end
      Mercy killing ….. Suicide the 2 of them mean people decide the death not Allah Almighty

      Talking about death or if it the time for that person to die or not is not people matter it's Allah matter

      Mercy killing is another meaning of suicide but in different style this person has to sacrifice for God's reward

      If he die naturally he'll be at the same rank with ALshahid

    • I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE MY OPININ WITH ALL OF YOU PEOPLE , FIRST , I DO NOT SUPPORT MERCY KILLING , BECASUE IT IS NO ALLOWED FOR AS US HUMANS TO EXCUDE OTHER PEOPLE LIFES INSTED OF HELPING WE ARE KILLING WHAT MIND IS THIS ,SECOND EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE SICK , IN COMA OR WHAT EVER THERE PART OF US WE ALL ARE CYCLE COPLETING EACH OTHER , THEY HAVE FEELINGS WHY WE ARE NOT TRYING TO HELP THAM STEP BY STEP HUMAN TOUCH IS REQUIRED SOME TIMES ,I HAVE SEEN ALOT OF PATIENTS UNDER VENTILATORS THERE CONDITION IS CRITICAL , WE TRIED OUR BEST TO HELP THEM , &WE DID NOT SIMPLY SAID LET THEM DIE , THIRED POINT REGARDING THE COST WHAT COT EACH PERSON OF US HAS ALITTLE HOPE TO SEE THAT PERSON ALIVE , SIMLING WITH OUR WITH OUT ANY COMPLINE , WHY THE COST IS MATTER , PATIENT & HIS LIFE IS NOT A WORD WHICH WE CAN ERESE IT FROM OUR NOTES WHEN WE WANT , 7 REWRITE IT WHEN EVER WE WANT , WE HAVE TO THINK ALOT BEFORE EACH & EVERY STEP , & AGAINE IAM SAYING WE ARE HUMAN WE DO NOT HAVE TO TAKE OTHERS LIFE
