      DILBERT'S THEOREM ON SALARY

      Dilbert's Theorem on Salary states that engineers and scientists can never earn as much salary as business executives and sales people. This theorem can now be supported by a mathematical equation based on the following two postulates:

      Postulate 1: Knowledge is Power.
      Postulate 2: Time is Money.
      As every engineer knows: Power = Work / Time

      Since Knowledge = Power, and Time = Money, we have:

      Knowledge = Work / Money

      Solving for Money, we get:

      Money = Work / Knowledge

      Thus, as Knowledge approaches zero, Money approaches infinity regardless of the amount of Work done.

      Conclusion: The Less you Know, the More you Make.

      I think this theorem is more important for those who are working on trading
      And I am sure they know how to support their opinion and how to persuade you

      And this is an Ironic title which means that u don’t believe in this idea
      But believe me dear “ Dr Jeeni “ this theorem has some truth and tangible results
      Well, when I said it has some truth I don’t totally assure that its right and there is one thing I would like to add which is every job has its own importance and we cant say that one is better than the other and everyone choose what he wants
      I forgot to say something very important which is there is nothing u can do without knowledge so its very important and come first I mean before to start thinking about money

    • I would like to start by thanking The Boss, Dr. Jeeni
      I knew we were not to be left alone, and Dr. Jeeni's visit is proving it, we are not alone, and we shall never be left alone

      I believe Dilbert, Dr. Jeeni and I do agree, and I guess Dilbert has never stated that without knowing what he was saying or talking about
      Look around you, taking into consideration that the theory specifies engineers and scientists as well as business executives and sales people
      I would look at from this angle, a scientist can be a sales man, but the sales man can never be a scientist, and the engineer can easily be a business executive, but no the other way round

      I conclude engineers and scientists know more than business and sales people, still they make less money
      Confusing :P I know
      I will close here and sure will be back but I ask you all once again to look around you and see some examples the theory suggests

      May be I will come on later on and give some examples

    • Thx for participating and sharing ur ideas ... for those who said its right then well and good for those who said it was wrong show us some evidence mathematical equation wouldn't be bad :)


      In my opinion if u judge it from the title u would absolutely think it's nonsense but that was the conclusion so take a step back and go through it u will find out that it's a fact that engineers and scientists can never earn as much salary as business executives and sales people. It's not about knowledge only take a step further and think about the hours and efforts spent by the two groups.

      The problem is that engineers take so many positions, look around you, I have seen one as head of the football asscociation

    • I heard my lecturer, a british engineer, saying it once, we, engineers and technical people spend hours getting things ready behind all sorts of electronic devices, and here comes an actor or an actress, perform for few minutes, gets all the money, and bye, see you later

      Wait, they are not only get the money, but the reputation and fame

      Funny, the more we know, and work, the less we make, poor engineers or the less you know, the more you make rather

      Dr Jeeni, I would agree with you in one part only, which is that business executives and sales persons do earn SOMETIMES more than engineers and scientists, but this is not because the mathemetical theory, as it conflicts with the real equations previously

      If you know less and you earn more, then how come the equation says that Knowledge = Power?? If you know less, you've got less power, with less power, you cant earn more

      I see it this way, scientists and engineers do the research and make the things, I would consider them as manufacturers, then the business executives will make a price for it and trade it, the amount recieved part of it will go to the scientists and engineers, whatever the profit earned will go to the business executives and the same applies on sales persons. the sales persons earn for what they sell, the less they know about their products, the few products sold, with business executives, the less they know about their business products and services, the worse they get in convincing people about whats good in these products and services

      I do agree with Lavender that in a sense that knowledge = management, as we all need to know how to manage the knowledge we have with using some intelligence to earn more, however, knowing more not necessarily going to help us in earning more, because there are other parties involved, culture, people, socities, needs and desires of customers..etc

      Perhaps, the more you know, the more you get of good reputation and fame at least, maybe not money because money needs knowledge to know how to earn it
