I want your opinion

    • I want your opinion

The topic’s in the following discussion all revolve around one area which is very controversial and there are a few aspects where it is either black or white but most areas are grey areas where it is left for you to decide and give you’re opinion and view with solid reasons and answers on why you believe so. The area I would like to discuss is Law and Ethics in healthcare.

Some terms you might like to use or will come across are:

      1) Liability
      2) Morals and Beliefs
      3) Reliability
      4) Professional Code of Ethics
      5) Fraud
      6) Advocate
      7) Abuse

You can find the definition for all these terms by accessing: dictionary.com and there you can simply put the term in the search box and search and it will give you the definition for each word.

Law and Ethics in healthcare is a vast subject. So in this case I would like to focus on forgery and making of fake certificates, and using them to become a health care professional whether they are doctors nurses or any other person providing health care services and actually dealing with patients. My question is, if a person is caught doing so what should happen and who should be involved? What penalties would they have to pay and could they ever be given a second chance? What are you’re views and opinions? Another point off course there are laws and those are set but in the area of ethics what is effected on the side of the person produces fake certificates and claiming to have such qualifications?

A good site you might be interested to visit that is concerned with Law and Ethics in health care:

-American Society of Law, Medicine and Ethics(Journal): aslme.org/pub/jlme/index.php
    • its a very important issue you bring here, 6ebah

Unfortunately, i am not familiar at all with the exact laws and ethics about healthcare.... but i would guess that they are NOT as strict and precise as they are in America, for example

Here, In Oman, (if this is what you meant) ... i dont believe that there is a definate code of ethics consolidated by the Ministry of Health and the ministry of law, as such

From all the hundreds of malpractices that go unpunished (as we discussed here on this forum a thousands times), it is obvious that no such laws are enforced

Thanks a lot Mrs. Unfaithful for your participation
And I want to add my opinion on that issue

Forgery is widespread in our days, especially with the availability of many advanced
technological equipment that made easy almost for every one. People forge signatures,
names, passports, and birth and property certificates. In point of view, faking such
documents can be passed over, although, such behaviors are considered crimes in the
eye of the law. These people are harming no one but themselves, eventually they will be
caught and then they’ll spend the rest of their lives regretting it.

      Regards
    • It is funny, well not fuvvy at all to see doctors and I am not sure about nurses are merely the only ones to take the oath once embarking their job or even before, I guess once join the medical associations

They need and have to be on oath while working and serving people
Well who on earth believes he/she is serving people and taking care of them
Forging is something, and breaching the oath is another, and breeching the laws in a third one

They should be punished, if convicted, punished severly

To tell you the truth Tebah I did not get your point, what do you want? what shall we discuss in particular. You mentioned seven points and discussed the eights yourself if I am not mistaken

Pardon me, so much on my head, and in mind

      Thanks dear
    • Dear Tenderness

      Liability
      Morals and Beliefs
      Reliability
      Professional Code of Ethics
      Fraud
      Advocate
      Abuse
These seven terms are used in ethics and law and I mentioned them just to add the words that might be used. And I mentioned in the above statement.

So, I just focused on Forgery, because I read this issue twice in our newspaper, that some doctors were using it when they looking for job “Doctor Position” and then the ministry of health discovered their play.

Thanks for sharing us your opinion
