Arabic with English

    • Arabic with English

Good afternoon dear brothers and sisters. Today I am having a topic which might be strange for some of you. One of the questions that we keep asking ourselves is that is there a relation between Arabic and English and if so, what kind of relation? is is negative or positive relation

Generally speaking, Chomsky for a long time has been talking about something called Universal grammars UG. He defines UG as the grammars that can be found in all languages around the world. For example, most of the languages around the world have subjects, verbs and complements. The difference is in the order of these grammatical items. Now, what is important is the relation between two languages

From a long time, it has been proven that a good writer in Arabic likely will be a good writer in English. Moreover, a good speaker in Arabic, will be a good speaker in English. This theory has been clarified by Chomsky (threshold hypothesis ) Now, we have a question which is really important which is what language should come first?

Some psychologists keep talking about the ability that the child has by which he can learn more than one language in his childhood
It is right, but it has been proven that learning two language in one time may cause a lose for one of the two

let's have a discussion about it please
      Thanks

    • as we Know that our mother tongue is one of the most language that our God created 4 us as Muslims which z the the language of the Qur'an..

but the Q z Is Arabic difficult ?

I cn say during I see that Arabic is not difficult..
Learning Arabic certainly takes time & practice. It z as essay as much as no1 cn imagine ,but there are not many irregularities in the grammar. It's much less complicated than English, & probably simpler than others language

Today English is widely taught around the world as a second language
I think that the English language is so vitally important because it is spoken in so many parts of the world. Businesses, educational domains, academic domains, and even realms that deal with security all use English as a language of communication

when we want 2 talk about
what is the important relation between two languages
      Surely,
English and Arabic are from two different language families, Germanic and Semitic, respectively. Because they descend from different language families,
English & Arabic hv numerous differences in their individual grammars. The grammar of a language includes its phonetic attributes, and there are many phonetic differences between the English and Arabic languages.

Now, we have a question which is really important which is what language should come first
      according 2 ur Q
In a practical sense, one could survive without English, but with the globalized nature of the world and commerce,
knowledge of English is quite essential. In terms of the appreciation of language and literature, knowledge of English is extremely important in understanding some of the best writings offered. This is not to say that other languages do not possess the same amount of introspection and talent. Far from it. Yet, the knowledge of English could help to open many professional and literary doors.

So, we can say that nowadays English language It becomes the first than Arabic.
it has become the most important language around the world

      nice Topic ..
      keep going bro
      . . . لاشيء يتغير, الأحداث باردة وغرف القلب باردة و العالم كومة صقيع...,, . . .
    • woow sis.... it seems that you are interested in writing essays. I was in the top of interest while I was reading what your hands have written here

Just I want to comment about the language which is more important. In fact, English is the global language which people cannot survive without . I think you have said this indirectly. If we take a long breath here and see why do we have this situation? we will find that because of power. More power you have, more dominant you become. Note that when I am talking about power, I am not talking about weapons and wars. I am talking about business, education, justice and law.

Thanks sis for visiting my topic.
    • Welcome back Mr .english and again it's my pleasure to share you here
Day by one ,you are going to create for us new sides to discuss and that's highly appreciated from you .According to this , you remind my about Albania
It is an islamic country , people there don't know Arabic at all
but you know what is the point here, their children memorize the
holy Quran wholly without knowing the meaning of each word at it
just because they are still young , so they can get it easily
yes that's right , children can figure out more than one language as you
said before . Shame on us , we know Arabic well but we do memorize simple Ayat
in return . Aside from that , i agree that english is needed everywhere now but as i feel
it is very easy comparing with Arabic . Yes , we are Arabs
but i can't deny that there are alot of difficult words which we don't really know their meaning . 100% yes
i don't know what is the relation inbetween Arabic and english , but what i'm sure about is that
Arabic has to come first in order to solve the life issues with islamic morals , and then the english
language should follow it to complete the missing life practical sides such as business, cultures , education and so on
then the triangle is going to be complete, appropriate and ready to follow
      as this equation
      triangle = 3 sides
first side = knowing islam thoughts and rules
second side = being able to control changes at life decisions
third side = knowing both (english & Arabic languages) , that's my humble diagram

Good topic , keep it up

      :)

my brother , next time after writting the topic
i suggest you to end it by putting few questions for us to answer , so we know
what is the point that you want us to focus in at the discussion
coz as a learner , i find a difficulty in getting the post till i read it several times
and at the middle of the discussion, i feel lost
      .........
one more thing is that , no need to thank us for visiting and
replying , because that's the nature
      someone has to write
and the others have to reply
so , thank you for the post
since we want to get beneit from
      :)

    • Sis thanks for your words which enlightened my topic more and more. I want just to thank you for providing some examples related to the topic and since you have mentioned the Holy Quraan, I want to add one point that you talked a little about. Some people will come to their minds that we as native Arabic speakers, we know Arabic very well. Also, we sometime believe that English people are good in English. The point here is the following : speaking the language does not mean that you are expert in your language because, if we come back to our Holy book, there are many words that sometimes we do not understand. You as native speaker can speak the language fluently, but if someone stops you and asks you about a rule in Arabic you might not get it correctly. According to this, we have to make a clear distinction between learning a language and acquiring a language
Having said that, we can realize sometimes that our knowledge about English grammars is much better than our knowledge about Arabic grammars

ok sis I will write the questions next time....no worries
