Did you notice NaWar that guys who study abroad eventually become much better cooks than girls???s

I dont know why, its embaressing, but they seem to learn very well and become real good cooks.... and the girls can never compete

I wonder whats the scientific theory behind that.. maybe thats a sign that its time for the men to become house-husbands

LoL.. house-husbands?? hmmm i guess it's the absence of the opportunity to do a new thing.. you know they are enjoying it.. while women, do it because they know that they will have to do it one day.. I mean see how old i am and i still cant cook because i believe that i was never meant to cook :P but i still cook to live..

the scientific theory is that they want to compete with women and that gives them a reason to show off and act silly with ba6rah by commenting on the food women cook. so they taste it and say oh you need to put more salt, when i was abroad, i did it this way and they start teaching the women.. lol they think they are better but i guess they are more devoted to doing something for themselves because really men do care alot about what they eat more than women I assume!!1

Oh Nawar, about the Ramadan tents
Come on.. i cannot believe that you dont know what they are!!!!i

Ok its when Hotels and cafes make tents outdoors in a large area.. or maybe only seats and tables around that area.. and there are cooks outside next to them making Kunafa and arabic foods.. and sheesha of course.. and usually there is a live singer .. and people would spend the evening time there .. till early morning

9ara7a i feel silly explaining it.. lool.. its like trying to describe what a house is
bss i hope it clicked and you know them now :) :) :)

Oh really, is that what a tent is in Ramadan?? hmm sounds interesting without the sheesha ;) yeah i never knew about it to be honest with you, this is the first time i hear you guys talking about it

but thanks a lot, i think i do have a better image now of these tents.. are there places for women though??i
  • Tenderness كتب:

Wish me luck guys!! am I being too personal when I say all these things

I wish you luck :) , and let it personal, we want it personal, we want it real, we are living in a real world, and it is us who is making this world.............BUT
Never breach your personals, as to harm yourself or others
I like to be too personal and talk about my real life
    :)

Did you notice NaWar that guys who study abroad eventually become much better cooks than girls

Well, no wonder you do good at something it is temporary, and it is none of your business, the new and great cook will be around you one day, and I mean the great lovely wife
I hate housmaids, and will shut up talking about them

the inviromnet wasnt suitable for fasting because i had some ladies in my group and we had to do sport together

If we do not fast because we have to mix with girls and women in a certain way, and in descent manner then no Ramadan and no Ramadaniat :P . Well, some may argue with that and one may say well sometimes all depends on the age. We all pass different age stages and go from being immature to mature and do so many silly things in between

    :)
    Ramadan Kareem

well yeah i need to be careful, because i know myself i will let it go too far in being personal and this is because i decide what is personal and what is not personal to me.. i mean there are personal things that it OK to share it with people

about the not fasting just because girls.. i guess that people have the choice to do whatever they want. if they wanted to fast then it is a choice.. going out with girls doesnt harm as long as things are under limits.. but you cant be around them because they normally dont dress up decently

so yeah it's a matter of choice i believe

You are absolutely right dear, it is really difficult to not have a housmad and especially in ramadan.. We tried a part-time housemaid but she wasn't helpful so we tell her to not come any more. ~!@n

I tried with my sisters to arrange everything in house and eachone of us take something to do but in last we really feel tired..

I really feel sorry for my young sisters especially now in ramadn when they start cleaning as soon as we finished our easly s7oor at 11..
It is Ok for me to clean and cook but when it comes to our priorities we could hardly find time to do anything that we used to do in the past..

I was intending to do many things but because of the absence of the housemaid I didn't do mang thing i was planning to do in this period..

So, I think a housemaid is very important in my house..Sorry, nawar. Honestly, we can not live without a hosemaid. $

Well tell you what Scream... how do western women live without housemades??i you see, this is what I dont understand.. I never believed in having a housemade first because that makes me feel that im superior and i hate this feeling. second, i prefer to do things myself by having the prophet as a role model in that when he used to do his own stuff without having any help.. well some stuff at least

What im saying is, there are so many things that we do and we dont really need to do them because they take a lot of our time. For example, i know my family they have to prepare and feast for everyone everyday during the whole month, so they start from 2pm preparing for it.. why is that?? why taking so long?? We will be asked by Allah about all this time wasted.. I dont mind having something little but makes me feel full because the blessing is here.. to understand how to benefit from this holy month

My experience in this is based on my family though because I do have a big family to a total 16 excluding the guests of course but they are used to cooking a lot so they have to spend much time and they have to show all the talents in cooking.. wallah thareed is more than enough, for someone who is a fasting a whole day, it is so unhealthy to stuff our faces like this.. we had to get a maid for 2 years only and thats because one of the family members who is normally involved in cooking got pregnant and we needed someone in her place, thats all.. now she has gone and we dont need any housemade now matter how much work we have.. we used to and were brought up to have housemades but thats over now and we get house mades only if someone is pregnant.. we help each other, we support each other.. and yet we get the time to do anything and everything.. i used to study in 3rd secondary, clean, help in cooking or run away but we really didnt need one even for the whole big family

i mean there are so many alternatives but as people, we tend to not see the other alternatives and stick to what we are used to do because thats the way we've always done it and people always resist to change.. which is quite normal

It is nice to have a house maid, but I prefer not
I even make my self this cup of coffee or tea at work, though there are some and are their to make it for me, but I again prefer not

I do not like to feel miserable should whoever makes me this cup of tea does turn up and causes me to miss my early morning free air cup of tea or coffee, this is the difference

    DEar Nawar,
I agree with you in some case but sometimes we really need a housemaid to help in cleaning the house. Well, there is no problem with me in cleaning and I am good cleaner especially toilets #j for I clean 4 tolits a day when we don't have a housmaid. Thanks Allah that My mother teach me how to cook in order to help her in the kitchen.
So, youare going to say what is the problem if I can do all these things. The problem is that when all of go to work and school, my mother stay alone in the house and it is very difficlt for her to clean for she has a medical problem in her hand. MAy Allah will cure her inshallah.

We are also a big family and sometimes my aunt and my cousins visit us and there is no need to explain when noisy children gather all in one house $ $

So, it is good to have a housmaid but we have to take into consideration to not rely on her so much. We should specify for her specific things to do..For I know that there are many families let their housemaids take care of their children and i am totally aganist this idea..

OOOps, it is better to stop or i am not going to stop talking about housemaids.. :)

Having a housemaid doesn't mean that she has to do for you your cup of tea or coffee. Your wife and your mam should the one who do this for you..

In my house, the main condition of my father if we have a hosemaid to not at all cook the food.. :)

So, we depend in ourselves in cooking even the cup of tea..
So, let your wife to make you your cup of tea. Or, it is good for you to depend in yourself ~!@@ad

Scream, I understand that you will need a housemaid, especially if the house is too big but I assume that there are also grown ups in the house who can keep it clean.. I also assume that as soon as children make a mess, it is good to teach them to clean their mess before they leave.. at least thats how we do it in my home because those kids or the siblings at home have to understand that there is no body to clean behind them their mess and their mess is their business otherwise they will either be grounded or not rewarded.. oh yeah we go according to the rewards programs for kids.. the grown ups in my home are old enough to take care of theirselves and no one need to clean their mess, the boys and girls make their beds in the morning, put thier clothes in their closet, iron thier clothes.. because they know we dont get housemaids for such work.. plus they have to learn how to depend on thierselves in the little things..

I also do not think that a mother or a sister's duty is to do anything for her brother or father.. it is each person's responsiblity to do that on their own. As you said to Tenderness that his wife or mother should be doing this.. no they should not and they are not obligated

They have two hands, they have a brain, they can do it on their own

If they cant depend on theirselves in the little things, then they dont have a good foundation in depending on theirselves in other things.. big responsibilities and lessons come from little responsibilities and lessons ;)
  • How bad to fall ill in Ramadan, for the past 3 days I had this stuffy nose, sore throat, headache
I have been to the doctors and it is as usual, antibiotics
I eas talking to some friends about it and took it back to the atmosphere at the mosques as we spend much longer for Taraweeh with the ACs on and fans

Today I was prying noon prayer, and the colleague next to me used some Sijadah to pray on and wanted to share it with me, I said no, I am alright
He said he had stuffy nose, and the reason is the smell of the carpets, not an obvious smell but there was some

I told him, wow, you are right, though we pray Taraweeh at different mosques still we had the same symptoms

I am a little better now and pray I get more and more better as it is the worst thing to get ill in Ramadan

I know what you mean when you say getting ill in ramadan but guess what, many of your sins, if you have any, will be erased as much as you have pain, especially if you are fighting it with patience

I hope you get well soon insha'a Allah

Hala Honest.. wow you seem to be working out so hard.. lost weight.. I wonder if you look like VanDam or something like that :P

Yeah actually it was 4pm when you posted your message and I was busy cooking here ;) But thanks alot for inspiring me, now I can think that there is a hope in me to adapt the changes again.. God it's so much hard but fun :)

Now tell us Honest, what's exactly happening in those tents since you are already going there often.. if you can :)
  • Honest

you know, most people gain alot of weight during ramadan.. because of the eating pattern. thats why its really important to practice sports everyday or at least every other day in ramadan. With strong muscles in the body, the body keeps on burning fat even when you're not moving.. even when you're sleeping.. so you keep the balance and maintain yuor weight even if you indulge yourself in the ramadan goodies :)i
    Good for you :)i

LOL.. The tents are like discos??s
I have been to all of them, and sometimes i go there with my family. the atmosphere is very lively and fun. And honestly they are very nice and very family atmosphere. i dont see why you think they are that bad.

    ramadan kareem (again)

All of that just to see the new things in Ramadan, I've never experienced such things and you guys are tempting me.. but I will have to wait for a whole year for next Ramadan :P

  • Sometimes I love the fact of doing things at the last minute.. I remember once, I had 6 hours to pack up and fly to Oman and that was last year, it was funny that I didnt have my tickets, my flight was supposed to be at 12pm and at 8am i went to the travel agency to get my tickets, then go home, then take my bag, go to the airport and fly.. I guess it was the easiest experience because i didnt have to think much

It seems that I will be doing that very soon again

Insha'a Allah, if Im still alive, I will be going to this Khaima thingie and I will make sure that I have soem of Scream's Samboosa.. Because they have to try my Kebbeh :P

Thanks Tenderness, you guys seem to be having lots of fun.. • Oh I keep on forgetting about my Ramadan, how annoying is that!! I mean to forget.. Since Ramadan started, yesterday was the third time I cooked :P too bad for me, but I felt good because I had this energy inside me that I wanted to get out so I turned to cooking.. but it was quite a long night there, I was so me3tefsah and running outta time because I was doing more than one thing at the same time, I was working on a research paper with a partner and I kept on going out, doing my stuff and then coming back and continue working on the computer.. it was funny

I stayed at this Omani family's place until a very late time but it was all fun, I was happy, I got angry and upset, I spent some time with the kids, I did everything I wanted which I havent been doing in the last couple of months

Guess what, the project of the uni that i participated in as an associate producer is now complete and there will be a gathering for all the people who were there as well, but most probably almost no one would be here because it will be on the 22nd Nov. and no one would stay til then because summer holidays in Australia started from the 17th of Nov.. too sad!i
  • So it is the third time you cook, and I guess third time is lucky :) , forget about the first two times, I know they were terrible #i. Funny, strange and most of all power , as you enter summer the same time we do enter winter

Last night, the 18th of Ramadan here in Oman, 2nd Nov 2004, Shaikh Zayed dies
    يرحمه الله ويحسن اليه
and a 3 days off were announced in respect to the late shaikh, all back to normal saturday

there will be a gathering for all the people who were there as well, but most probably almost no one would be here .. too sad

LoL.. yeah when I say that I dont cook often, doesnt mean that Im really bad at it.. At least it turns out to be a good one :P Allahuma La 7asad :P

Yeah, I got that sad message from a friend of mine at around 7.30pm Oman's time, and it was 1.30am here.. Allah yar7amah o ya9eber Ahlah, i Love that man!!i

well as I said, the gathering is for all the people who participated but almost no one would be there, so I have no clue who is going to be there and who is not.. the only few people that I know who would be here are no more than 6 guests and I will have to make sure that a copy of the DVD is mailed out to them :P too much work!!i So it all depends on who is going to stay and who is not

Guess what, I think Im going to cook tomorrow insha'a Allah and i think someone will have to call up the hospital :P hehe no really im not that bad.. i know how to cook it's just im not a big fan of it

    Cheers
  • We always thank ALLAH for every thing, and I thank ALLAH I am not in Australia and have stomach ache :P and would settle for a home made samboosa similar, and I say similar to Screa's as I heard her sambosa is the best in town :P i

I wonder if we can have a copy of this DVD as long as it is for public, and does not breach privacy of those concerned, unless it is bad production and no one would see it apart from those who made it :P #i i

Well, ALLAH does whatever is best for us and I heard that Yaser Arafat is in deep comma
    ربنا يشفيه وجميع مرضانا

one strange thing about me I never say I am busy, I can do every thing all together, and have time for every thing, I even went to work on the public holiday last wednesday
    $$-e
I sorry many did not like our Ramadaniat and might though it is to talk religious, to those I would say, we all love Ramadan and its spiritual aspects but still Ramadan means a lot and our Ramadaniat was only a small part of what Ramadan means
    :)

True, and I see that even talking about general stuff is a relief which then comes down to worship

Well, even if you can do many things no matter how much you have to do, that's still called busy with something.. But when it seems that you have so much to do and you are so busy with it, then I guess even giving rest to this body should also be a right.. Like I say to the friends here that Im busy relazxing at this time.. so busy doesnt mean busy with some work.. This week that has passed, I was so mucb busy relaxing, you can't imagine.. I got to do so many things that I wanted to do long time ago

Well, insha'a Allah if you really want to watch this DVD then I will get you a copy and give it to you, I might come back to Oman too earlier that I expect, but doesnt mean I give it to you myself and I can make sure that you get it :) instead of using the snail mail

Im not even going to be any close to cooking issue, I do have issues with it and I dont think it was meant to be for me anyway :P

I have been away from my home for 3 days and I havent seen my neighbours for a week now, but today insha'a Allah I will go and say hello to them
  • One night, and in our Ramadaniat a friend warned me that I should take care that no body hacks my computer, I smiled and said, I wish they did it, there is nothing I hide and there are only some photos I wish all could see it
Picturs of me posing, as usual $$-e :P #i , with some well known figures :P , though I have no idea about this hacking game and cannot play 007 games in any way handing things in a very complicated methods and procedures. I would rather not see anything and it only costs me to go to the movies and see productions that cost millions for only 2 omani Rials, ya balash

The EID is coming soon, which means Ramadan is coming to its end, the markets are already full, and this is not bad at all. Some are there to make others happy, some are finding it an opportunity to renew few things, and buy few things they waited long enough for

I heard the public sector salaries will be out on NOV 8th so people get salaries by the 9th or 10th, and this not bad once again
I know some will suffer after Eid, but after all I hope all can manage well

I usually feel sad and had this strange feeling on the first day of eid and on the time for the maghreb prayer, this is the moment I realize that Ramadan has ended, and wonder whether I shall live to witness the next Ramadan

Last night, the 18th of Ramadan here in Oman, 2nd Nov 2004, Shaikh Zayed dies
    يرحمه الله ويحسن اليه
and a 3 days off were announced in respect to the late shaikh, all back to normal saturday

    $
    may god rest his soul
    Shiekh Zayed allah yer7amha
Honestly, i never thougt i'de feel sad or shed a tear for any of the arab rulers, but when its been anounced that Zayed died, i truely felt a tremendous loss. A great good person like him is gone. His good deeds are not only for UAE, but even 100s of Omanis have had hope and hapiness in thier lives from his generousity and kindness. Let alone for the whole arab and islamic nation.
He was and still is truly loved ... allah yer7amah.
